What’s new in the Google Maps 4.4 for Android Update?

Google just released an update to their Maps app for Android, bringing it to version 4.4. So far Google has bee releasing a fairly substantial update to this app every month for the past several months. Rather than just talk about the new changes, in the following video I’ve broken down Google Maps based on its four distinct functions (including the new “Places” feature), and demo’d adding a Directions & Navigation shortcut to one of your home screens. pocketnow.com

Damn it… ;) If only I had watched your newest vid before I went away for the weekend, I would’ve installed the update even via that darn slow EDGE connection I had in the mountains. Could’ve been very useful.

Thanks anyway for once again bringing me up to speed with my phone, Joe! :)

Actually u would think black is wat will save more, but no… The reason why is the pixels are still lit up from the back light, and there for it still stays on… With white, the pixels will turn off and the backlight will stay on, meaning just the light is on, and it can save power consumption

Wont the black background save battery life? Black means that the pixel is off so it doesn’t use any power.
