If the low-end LG Optimus One that launched contract-free on Straight Talk a few months ago didn’t quick get your Android engine revving, perhaps the mid-end LG Optimus Black or higher-end LG Optimus 2X (aka G2X) is enough to tickle your fancy? Both devices were leaked online as coming soon to Walmart’s pre-paid cellphone service which offers 30 days of unlimited talk, text and data for only $ 45 a month (piggybacking on T-Mobile’s nationwide 4G network). Not too shabby.

Although an official release date has yet to be given, members of HowardForums reported local Walmarts already receiving shipments of the dual-core Optimus 2X with a vague “end of the month” release date from store associates.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the 1GHz LG Optimus Black appear on a contract-free service with the rebranded “Marquee” coming soon to Sprint’s pre-paid Boost Mobile service. This is, however, the first we’re hearing of a dual-core device being offered contract-free on any pre-paid service so we’ll have to wait and see how receptive the general public is on the Optimus G2X. Anyone thinking of getting either the Optimus Black or Optimus 2X?

Just like Google and Wikipedia, it seems the CyanogenMod team are taking the SOPA thing to heart by blacking out their own site in protest of SOPA.

If you’ve been under a rock for the past few months (or unplugged from the internet) SOPA is a bill that — if passed — could essentially end the internet as we know it, all in the name of anti-piracy censorship. This quick video will better explain things.

While Google.com is still up and running (how crazy would it be if they really shut down the heart of the internet?), their statement is clear: “End Piracy, Not Liberty.” Nuff said.

UK retailer Clove has posted a few more “official” press shots of the white version of the Galaxy Nexus hitting overseas in February. You’ll notice unlike the white G-Nex which was previously posted, showing an all white face plate (similar to the white Epic 4G Touch hitting Sprint in a few days), the updated images actually show an all black front of the device now with side moldings and battery cover receiving the new white paint job. Have to say, I’m kinda feeling this new version a little better but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What do you guys think?

We’ve just gotten word from our trusty T-Mobile inside about some deals related to Black Friday and the holiday season. Firstly, they’re offering discounts on down payments for off-contract device purchases.

The Samsung Exhibit II 4G the MyTouch by LG (excluding the Q) and the Samsung Gravity Smart all have no down payments so you can walk out of the store with the device without having to pay anything up front.

The LG DoublePlay can be had for just a $ 50 down payment and the Galaxy S II only needs a  $ 200 down payment. In order to be eligible for any of these deals you must get either the Unlimited Value Text and Talk with 2GB or higher plan or the Unlimited Small Business Text and Talk with 2GB or higher plan.

The Motorola XOOM can be had for $ 200. While you might opt for something a bit more “recent” it has finally gotten its 4G upgrade and at this price is a decent offering if you plan on sticking with it for two years.

Take a look at the rest of Verizon’s supposed deals below, including one we already knew of – double the data on their mobile broadband plans. PocketNow has leaked another device today. This time, US Cellular’s LG Majestic has been leaked to be a variant of the LG Optimus Black It’s a super thin and super bright device with Android 2.2 (sorry) and a 1GHz processor. It won’t exactly blow your socks off at this point but I remember this being one of more exciting devices in LG’s range. It still is a decent phone to have so if it impresses you, have a go once it finally goes on sale. We just need an announcement and a date, both of which could be coming very soon.

Well this is quite possibly the most beautiful Black Friday ad I’ve ever seen. See items 2-4 on the list below? See their prices? How have you not already called off of work yet? For starters, we have the ASUS Transformer – the original – for $ 250.

While the Prime with its quad core Tegra 3 processor is just about ready to launch, $ 250 for any Android Honeycomb tablet as good as this one is a deal too good to pass up. We’ve also got the Acer Iconia Tab (7 inch version) for $ 190 and the Toshiba Thrive for $ 280.

These are all great tablets for these prices and I have a feeling they won’t last long at all at this prices. Best Buy also has an assortment of phones for free on a new two-year agreement.
