Nokia

So the iPhone is already getting its crack at Android, and the Nokia N900 wants to take its crown back. Back in January, we saw that Android could be dual-booted alongside Maemo, but the implementation wasn’t too promising at that point. The project – now known as NITDroid – has made some huge strides and will continue to grow as time moves on.

This time around, we’ve got a fully working (and very responsive) touch-screen, a usable QWERTY keyboard, a much-faster boot time, and a resolution that doesn’t make Android look like a disproportionate mess. It also recognizes the N900’s internal memory, and appears to be running Eclair, at that. “Go, NITDroid, Go!” is all I can say, at this point, as I’m always excited to see Android popping up on numerous devices for which it wasn’t intended (including several Windows Mobile-based devices, to date).
