Apart from the GPU’s and bumping the CPU options there isn’t really much they can do with the iMacs. I’d like to see 3.33GHz Core 2 Duo CPU’s in the non i5/i7 models as standard though, assuming they stick with C2D options. The 330M with 1GB would be a good start too on the lower models with maybe 480′s in the top end ones, that would be great. It’s quite possible too looking at the firmware update the mini got that had the 480 named in it’s driver list.

@Capthunter95 The Air is more for ultra portability. It’s made for people who are in and out of meetings all over the place who can just slide it into their mesenger bag or briefcase or whatever like it was a file, that’s one of the reaons it tapers towards the bottom, so it slides in easier. It’s more of a secondary machine than a primary one, plus they’re supposed to be used over a wireless network when you want to access files (hence Air). If you dont see the point of it you’re not its market

    LACK,
Great video!! I read the same report on macrumors. The Mac Pro is getting the update first apperently and the iMac afew days/weeks later.

Im waiting for this update to iMac, The ones now are overpriced and under spec. the CPUs are not i5/7s and the new MacbookPro ares. Aswell as the Graphics card (this will be big for bootcamp gaming for me) Id like to see a 1GB.

Plus USB 3.0 will be great for external HDDs. Looking forward to next summer when i can bag one of these.

    Ste

@TalesOfWar What about the Macbook Air? It’s got no superdrive I would have to buy that seperate and plug into its USB port. Are the airs really worth having?

@Capthunter95 If you want portability, MacBook Pro, if you don’t need the portability then the iMac will be great, it’s more powerful too and you get a nice big screen. It’s just all down to if you need to be mobile with it or not really. You won’t regret getting either though.

@rand0m4productions Ah, aye, it’d be nice for them to move up, but there’s a good reason for sticking with C2D for now as you get better performance with them than an i3 (the Intel GPU’s are pathetic, they don’t support OpenCL very well so they went with the 320M seeing as nobody but Intel can make IGP’s or chipsets for their new CPU’s).

@TalesOfWar I was referring to the iMacs and the other Macs which still use the Core 2 Duo architecture.

@LACK78 I might be getting my first Mac ever this christmas and i cant decide between a 13″ Macbook Pro or a 21.5″ iMac. Which would be a better deal? I’m only 15 so im not gunna be too mobile.

@rand0m4productions Apple do use the new Intel architecture in the Mac Pro’s, they’re nehalem based Xeons. The most likely update is going to be the new 6 core models.

@TheMoon4567 i just want to say, that imac is amazing, i have the 27″ i5 format and it is lightning fast, huge storage capacity if thats important. but saying that i would rather have a souped up macbook pro with a 17″ screen and have the portability and some degree of raw power. i did pic up the ipad though and it has become a very good friend for when i dont feel like going to the bedroom for a quick search
