    It works using the accelerometer. I noticed it doesn’t detect metal, it vibrates when you tilt the phone a certain way.

    Why someone would thumb down your comment is beyond me. The compass is the obvious choice for the implementation of a metal detector.

    It’s using the build in compass, N97, iPhone 3GS and Samsung OmniaHD, acutally al phones with a buildin compass can have this.

    Uhh….Dont magnets ruin the cellphone? Cuz if there’s a magnetic field, the cellphone shouldnt work?
